For ongoing routine engagements, we prefer a fixed-price monthly retainer. In the case of larger, more expensive projects (e.g. a comprehensive and complicated cash flow model), we often divide up the engagement into manageable segments, with monthly payment terms to enable our clients to better budget for the projects.
